Northcliff sits on the ridge west of Randburg, one of Johannesburg's original prestigious suburbs with large properties, mature tree canopies, and a sense of permanence that newer areas simply don't have. Many of the gardens here have been established for decades — with Liquidambars, Cape Chestnuts, and Sycamore figs that were planted when the suburb was young.

Working in Northcliff demands a particular kind of sensitivity.
